Hiya Future Readers,
So before i decided to commit to the 28 day water fast, I trawled the internet for all the anti hunger tips i could possibly find, and i thought i would post the ones i found worked, as well as a few of my own, on my blog to help others. Plus if there is anyone reading this looking for a PRO ANA BUDDY, post your email in the comments box at the bottom and i will get back to you, plus maybe someone else reading this blog might get in touch as well. I totally recommend having a buddy you can text or email that understands your hunger, while your boyfriend/girlfriend or whatever might be supportive, you really need someone who knows what you are talking about. I already have one buddy and she's my lifeline to my diet, so i totally recommend trying to find one.
Anyway, over to my tips and tricks (I'll repost this page as I find more things that work), here they are;
1) Drink water!!! Obvious right? But try to drink it BEFORE you get hunger pains, drinking it while you feel hungry will only make you feel nauseous, so try and drink it the moment you feel a hunger attack coming on.
2) Keep busy!!! Boredom and eating tend to go hand in hand so try and stay busy and away from any temptation.
3) The little things do count!! Don't try telling yourself that it's only 5 cals or only 10 cals, you can't have ANYTHING solid AT ALL!
4)Drink ONLY water! No tea, no hot drinks, only water! That's why it's a water fast!!!
5) Chew gum! But only do this if you can take the hunger pains, the chewing will keep you metabolism ticking over but it will increase the hunger pains, so keep that in mind if you do chew.
6) Keep someone who knows what you are trying to do with you, that way they can stop you from giving in to temptation, give you a slap on the wrist, that kind of thing.
7) Don't exercise!!! Strange i know, but you are already calorie negative just by living, if you try and exercise as well you WILL NOT have enough energy to do the things you need to do, work, clean, that kind of thing. Keep it to fast only.
8) When the hunger hits, visualize the body you want, tell yourself that the pain is worth it for the body that you will get at the end of the fast and the good things that will come with that new body.
9) DO NOT sit with people that are eating. The smell will be too much to take, don't go out for lunch and if your spouse is eating, try to avoid them until they are done and make sure they clear away before you come back in to the room.
10) Try watching people eat in the internet, i don't know why but it really helps me feel better about not being allowed to eat. Try it, see if it helps you too.
That's the only things i can think of at the moment, but like i said I'll update this or repost it if i think or discover any other helpful tips or tricks to keep the hunger away. If you guys have any please let me know!!!
Anyway, till you read again!!

Days 1 & 2
Hiya future readers,
I'm writing this at the end of day two, I have officially not eaten anything since the evening of the 18th and it's now the evening of the 20th. To be honest i'm not feeling too bad, having read a lot of descriptions in books of people feeling 'constantly hungry', I can only surmise that the writers have never been hungry for any length of time. I'm not feeling constantly hungry, it kind of comes and goes, for the majority of the day I'll be feeling light and floaty but not actually hungry The actual hunger pains come in half hour bursts of stomach pain, maybe five times a day, and don't get me wrong they hurt like crazy, but it's not unbearable. If i have a fag or some water, it generally mutes, although doesn't stop the pain.
I'm not having any of the other side effects supposed to come with food deprivation, my skin isn't considerably worse, I haven't noticed any thinning of my hair and i think my mood is generally quite stable, although you might get a different answer if you asked people i live with! It might just be too early to see the side effects, or i might weight too much at the moment to see them, or they might simply not be as bad as people have made out, but time will tell.
I do have a little confession to make though, although i haven't eaten anything in over 48 hours, i have had two herbal teas and one coffee with milk. This is a water only fast, so technically I shouldn't consume anything that isn't water, but it doesn't seem to be affecting my weight loss. I was 97 kg on the 18th, 96.5 on the 19th and today come in at just over 95kg, so I've lost 2kg in two days, waaaaay more than i could expect to loose with any diet I've ever heard of. And i only have 26 days left to go, so i'm feeling confident, i really do think i have the will power to go the full 28 days with no food, although i'm going to have to keep an eye on what i drink. No more herbal tea for me unfortunately :(
I'm really looking forward to see what i look like at the end of the month, I can already see that i'm carrying less weight around the stomach, which is my most hated body part!!! I can't wait to be slim again, and thinking of that when i go through the hunger phase really helps to motivated me. But what i have started doing which i think might be a little weird is looking at videos of fat people eating food on youtube, strange right! I think i like it because it makes me make the link between food and fat but also because if i'm not allowed to eat, i like watching other people eat as, i don't know, comfort? It's a little odd but it helps so i'm going to keep doing it. I'm thinking about posting my tips to stave off the hunger pains on this blog, to help anyone that might be reading this any trying to do the same thing.
Anyway, that's a log of my first and second days on the water only fast! I'll upload my tips and tricks as soon as i can and i'll post more pictures and measurements at the end of the week so you guys can tell me if you think it's working. I always love to read comments, so don't be shy to post them here or follow me on twitter @28daystillperfect.

An introduction
Hiya future readers! It's nice to meet you.
This is my blog, called 28 days till perfect because that's what i am. So you're probably wondering what this is all about? Well I have issues with my weight, I am approximately 97kg which, even at five feet ten is far far too heavy. How have i let myself get this way you might ask? Well, and let me make this clear, i am not making excuses for myself, I moved city and got busy, basically i grew up. And out. I used to be a tiny size 6 to 8 (UK size if you're wondering), just a year and a half ago. But i moved cities, met a boy, got a job and ballooned up to what i am now, i.e a size 16 to 18. I could tell you how it's ruined my life and so on and so forth but this blog is not about me being negative, this is about change.
So me and, i'll call him the boyfriend (let's just say it is waaay too complicated to get in too) have decided to go to his native country of Angola on holiday in July. This will be my first trip out of Europe and I want it to be special, walking on the beach, relaxing in the sun, all that jazz. But obviously this can't be done, while i am the size of a small mini bus. So i've been trawling the internet for diets ect but none of them will work fast enough. It's April now, I don't have time to faff about with miracle diets that don't work. But while i was internet-ing I came across a lot of pro ana stuff, for those that don't know ana stands for anorexia Now i'd been through an anorexic phase in my early teens, but had a very good doctor and went in to recovery and haven't looked back since. But looking at all that stuff again bought memories back of dropping weight fast and efficiently. Now i know there will be someone reading this thinking "NOO!! DIET AND EXERCISE" but i don't have the time to worship the tread mill. I work almost a sixteen hour day. So i need something that can consume my life but not my time.
Then i saw this. Living for ana. It's a blog here on blog spotter that is truly the holy grail of self denial. One of the articles written was about a 28 day water fast (I bet you're beginning to get the picture dear reader).Basically the drift was a 28 day water only fast, that means NOTHING other than water, no juice, no pain pills, and definitely no food! I can't ingest anything with any calories, not even supplements The thinking behind it is that after day 5-10, your body rewires the way it works, to feed on glycogen only (that's the fat already stored in your body) and starts to produce ketone bodies. Days one to five are suppose to be the hardest, but after day five hunger levels are suppose to drop dramatically and after day ten energy levels are supposed to rise, and by day twenty eight 90% of body fat is up. But anything eaten, even a crumb, will chance the metabolism back to needing glucose (new sugar input) instead of glycogen.
So i checked this out and the science seems sound, talked it over with my 'boyfriend' ( I told you it's complicated), and brought some ketone sticks to help me measure the ketone bodies in my system. I',m all set to go. As i type i am consuming my last food for the next 28 days, pizza just in case you're wondering. Its kind of exciting actually! I can't wait to see the change in my body happening, and even more than that, can't wait to find out if i have that kind of self control. I'll be blogging about my journey hopefully everyday, so support from you guys would be lovely, i think i'm going to need it!
Anyway down to the digits, to be posted every three or so days. Weight; 97kg. Measurements; arm 39cm, thighs 68.5 cm, stomach 103 cm. See below for some pics of me, taken today. Wish me luck.
See you guys soon,
